Hossan Leong, Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (The Order of Arts and Letters) is one of Singapore's most loved and recognised actors.

Affectionately known as 'Singapore Boy' Hossan continues to delight audiences - whether starring in his yearly stage production The Hossan Leong Show or in more dramatic roles on Mediacorp's Channel 8. In the Life Theatre Awards Hossan received Best Ensemble in 2000 and 2010, as well as nominations for Best Actor in 2005 and Best Supporting Actor in 2006 & 2003.

Hossan started his stage career in the Necessary Stage's production Off Centre and had gone on to appear in La Cage Aux Folles, The Rocky Horror ShowThe Full Monty, The Importance of Being Ernest, Asian Boys Vol.1, Mardi Gras, The Magic Fundoshi, Army Daze, Prelude to A Kiss, Little Shop Of Horrors, Honk!, The Forbidden City, Chang and Eng, Fiddler On The Roof, Twist Of Fate, Beauty World and Sing To The Dawn.

Television and Film credits include The Lost Empire (Hallmark Productions), The Perfect Cut 2, Under One Roof, I Not Stupid, One Last Dance and 'You Fu'. Hossan hosted Channel 5's gameshow We Are Singaporeans, Arts Central's Front and OKTO's Squirks.

In 2003 Hossan made his directorial debut in Sydney with Rodgers and Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song. More recent directing credits include Stephen Sondheim's Company, Beauty & the Beast and Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. Hossan also produced, directed and starred in Best Served Cold, a murder-mystery dinner theatre piece for the 2004 World Gourmet Summit. He conceived, produced and directed On This Island, a musical revue, for the APAO Congress 2006. Together with Paul Carr, Hossan wrote, directed and acted in a play for the launch of the 2006 Speak Good English Movement in Singapore and regularly provides Creative Direction for corporate projects.

Fluency in the French language has led Hossan to work with the Alliance Française and Sing’theatre for whom he appeared in A Singaporean in Paris and the unforgettable No Regrets: Tribute to Edith Piaf. He represented the Singapore Actors in Paris at the Asian Film Festival. In 2006 Hossan was named Ambassador for Paris 2012 and was awarded the Prix des Ambassadeurs Francophones (Francophone Ambassador Award). Hossan was also the Speak Mandarin Campaign Ambassador for 2005/2006. In 2010, Hossan was conferred Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication for his contribution to help bridge the Arts between France and Singapore.

On Radio, Hossan hosted The Gold Breakfast Show on Gold 90.5FM, and previously he was a Producer/Presenter with Lush 99.5 and Power 98.

Hossan is a consummate performer being able to sing, dance, act and play the piano it’s no wonder that he is one of Singapore’s most highly sought after hosts and entertainers for corporate events and dinners. ‘Singapore Boy’ has also performed in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Brunei, Shanghai, San Francisco, Boston, London, Chicago and New York. Clients include Luxasia, Starhub, UBS, Ernst & Young, TNT, IDA, The Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NETS, NTUC and SIA, amongst many others.

As co founder of the Paul Carr Consultancy Pte Ltd - an Entertainment & Media Training Company, Hossan offers motivational talks as well as corporate training worldwide, to executives in drama and presentation techniques. Clients include the Singapore General Hospital, The Health Sciences Authority, Association of Singapore Attractions, Aquent and Fly Entertainment. Hossan gave a TED talk in Hong Kong in May 2012.
